David Weekend

David Weekend organised by the Youth Ministry Office, is a time for Catholic youths from across the Archdiocese to come together for an experience in prayer and discipleship.

-Do you desire an "experiential" faith - that you can say for sure why you do what you do?
-Do you desire to "walk the talk"?
-Do you long to "connect"?
-Do you want to "live in hope"?

If you do, then come and begin this experience with us. David of the Old Testament is an example for us. Do you want to know his key? It was his relationship with God. A relationship that gave him so much conviction that when he, as a young boy, confronted Goliath the Philistine, he said "I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts." (1 Samuel 17:45)

The weekend will be a time when you will be equipped with basic tools for this walk in faith - prayer, word & journaling. Tools that may look like the 5 little stones in David's hands. But don't underestimate them.

It doesn't also just stop there. We want to invite you to be in small groups that will be facilitated by the staff at the Youth Centre. That is the time that discipleship begins. More "stones"! Learning to use the "sling"! We will tell you more. But in the mean time, come for this weekend!

We are planning to run identical weekends monthly from now till Oct. The dates are as follows:
14-16 July, 25-27 August, 22-24 September, 27-29 October

The venue will be at the Youth Centre. Time from Friday 5.30pm (dinner included) to Sunday 1pm (after lunch & Mass). The cost? $25 per person per weekend.
